Synergy:  Decor Inspired by Global Travel

Syn·er·gy \'sin-er-jee\ n [Gk synergos working together] (1660):   Combining different elements to achieve an enhanced and pleasing total effect.  We believe the essence of traditional home decor is the marrying of all the items you love and cherish to develop your home's unique personality. This is "no fear" decorating.  You can hardly go wrong with themes of color, size, style, or collections to build vignettes.  And I would love to help you arrange or stage your treasures.  Just use the Contact Me button.  You can also contact me with any questions about purchasing items you see pictured below.

We opened Synergy, our traditional home decor shop and mini-boutique, because we were inspired by the wonderful mix of handmade decorative accessories we found as we traveled for business and pleasure.  We wanted to showcase collections of items made by local artisans as well as those in countries around the globe, along with vintage and new home decor.

Also, check out pieces of our own A Alleman hand sculpted fine silver and semi-precious stone jewelry, now 40% off the marked price.

Lately, we are very excited about finding lovely Santa Fe or territorial style treasures.  The colors and textures are wonderful.

We're playing with the Southwest colors we love to develop our own unique "prairie primitive" surfaces.  We love the slightly shabby look, done up with gorgeous, deep, colors and primitive pieces with a spattering of contemporary items and lovely antiques.

You can buy items directly from us using the Direct Buy Items feature.  These are pieces that are not yet at the shop, and available for you to purchase at even better prices.

In the shop, you will find various elements including pottery, glass, metal, framed prints, baskets, shabby chic, primitive, contemporary, hand painted furniture and classic antique and vintage items, all living together harmoniously (in synergy).

We also have some of our own handmade boxes, trays, and original mixed media artwork.

"Fissure" "Woods"

We couldn't believe it when we found this wonderful mid-centurybar/cabinet.  It has glass panels in the side pullouts, which are perfect for bottles and glasses, and a shelf and drawer inside. And the victorian cloverleaf table with glass ball and claw feet is really beautiful.

Arranging vignettes with a world traveler feel is so much fun.  Especially finding unique old and new items to enhance any decor, like this 1940s U.S. military foot locker.  Great for placing at the foot of a bed, under a window, or for a unique coffee table.

Old trunks are always a great find, as well.  This one has a unique embossed pattern on the top and sides.

We always try to pass along the best prices to you and many of our NEW furniture pieces and accessories are priced well below retail.

Come visit "THE CLOSET", our mini-boutique area with new, vintage, and "like new" clothing, purses, scarves, belts, hats, and fun jewelry.  We shop for you to find unique items at great prices.  Now we are adding shoes and makeup lines to our boutique area.  The beaded, furry boots are a great seller and now markded down to only $23.00.

And look at these fun and amazing Pucci style high heeled tennies.  Won't these be great for Spring?  We'll be bringing in our sandal collection before long.

Item 9:  Wine rack.  Look at this great 48 bottle wine rack.  Wonderful for your home "wine cellar" or even for a restaurant.  It is one foot deep, four feet tall and 63 inches long.  It is very sturdy and built of darkly stained wood.  A steal at $85.00.  You pick up in Castle Rock.

Item 10:  Vintage dining set.  When I have room to bring this awsome and unique dining set into the shop it will be priced at $300, but you can buy it for $150 if you contact me and arrange to come pick it up in Castle Rock.  Someone turned this antique table with four chairs into a sort of Chinoiserie piece with red lacquer on the chairs and table legs.  The seats are upholstered with an unusual vinyl embossed fabric in a bronzy gold color.  The table top is not perfect, but has lots of character and the whole set is just plain fun.

Item 11:  SOLD!  Antique piano.  $600. You pick up in Castle Rock.   This is a truly great price!  This is a fully refurbished C. Hinze late 1800s upright.  I purchased it for $1,000 about five years ago and proceeded to replace all the felts and most of the wires in addition to the refurbishing that had already been completed.  The keys are only slightly chipped.  The bench is included.  The black painted finish is in very good shape and will complement any decor. My piano tuner said that this instrument has great sound.  This would be a fine piano for lessons as well as becoming an heirloom.

Item 12:  Lovely authentic Navajo rug.  $1,200 plus shipping or pick it up in Castle Rock.  We purchased this piece new in May, 1989 from a Gilbert Ortega Gallery in Scottsdale, Arizona.  The retail price then was $1,875.  It is a Wide Ruins style, #80240TT, woven by Rose Lee of Chinle, Arizona. This weaving is 48 by 69 inches.  It is woven in the traditional Chinle style and gentle colors. I would describe these particular colors as mustard, dark brown, tan, white, and rose pink.  It is only slightly faded on one side but perfect on the other.  As with all authentic Navajos, Ms. Lee wove this rug freestyle using wool she spun and dyed herself.  Traditional weaving is a dying art, the rugs are increasing in value, and are a good investment.

Item 13:  Vintage gondola tapestry. $100 plus shipping or pick up in Castle Rock.  The tapestry is faded to lovely muted tones of pink, peach, rose, brown, and gold.  I had it framed about 20 years ago and the frame is in perfect condition. The entire piece measures 21 by 37 inches.

Item 14:  Vintage rose tole tray.  $70 plus shipping or pick up in Castle Rock.  We purchased this beautiful handpainted tray in a Colorado Springs antique store about 20 years ago.  I still can't get over how vibrant the colors are.  It was probably painted in the 1920s.  The green background is dark and the beautiful pale pink to purple and yellow roses speak for themselves. It measures 16 by 22 inches.
