Synergy at The Barn : Decor Inspired by Global Travel
Hi, I'm Arleen Alleman, welcome to our website! We
really appreciate your visit. I am a Colorado jewelry
designer, specializing in fine silver (.999) sculpture
using Precious Metal Clay (PMC). You may purchase from the online store directly
or from other stores that carry A Alleman jewelry, including
our own retail store, SYNERGY, located at The Barn. The Barn is
a cooperative of antique and specialty stores in Castle Rock, CO.
We believe we
offer rather unique products and hope you have
time to look at both our online store and
gallery to see examples of handmade necklaces,
earrings, pendants, hearts, crosses, animals, and more.
There is
also an easy way to contact us directly if you
- want to discuss a piece of jewelry prior to purchase,
- would like me to design a piece of jewelry art especially
for you,
- are interested in having me sculpt your pet or
other item in the form of a fine silver pendant,
- want to purchase merchandise from our retail store, Synergy, or
- have any comments or questions about my work or
this website.
A Alleman jewelry pieces are handcrafted
sculptures in fine silver for you to wear with full confidence
that you have one-of-a-kind jewelry art. Much of my work
is a personal expression of my interest in the natural
world and the silver pieces often have incorporated
organic materials. This is unique jewelry and we
hope you see something that appeals to you.
Custom Designs
I also enjoy custom designing jewelry for our customers,
particularly the translation of their ideas into
a piece of wearable art, such as
jewelry with imbedded phrases, names, dates, birthstones,
or miniature sculptures of virtually anything from
your photo. My Gallery page has examples of custom
designs.
Animal and Pet Jewelry
Check out the examples of horse, llama, dog, and
cat jewelry in our on-line store and gallery pages.
I can sculpt virtually any animal or a miniature
of your pet from a photo.
Biographical Information
Several years ago, when I
retired from my career as a government analyst, I began
to build a custom design jewelry business. For me,
working with the earth's beautiful metals, gems, stones,
pearls, shells, and wood, and turning them into wearable
pieces of art is extremely uplifting and satisfying.
Partly because I am a biologist by training and not
a metal smith, I decided to work with the versatile
and forgiving Precious Metal Clay (PMC) see ( work
processes page for explanation ) to make my own
components. I saw this new and exciting medium as an
opportunity to create handmade silver pieces. I soon
realized that PMC provided a wonderful artistic outlet
through creation of Fine Silver sculptures that are
pendants, charms, brooches, earrings, beads, and clasps.
In 2003 I received my certification
from the Rio Awards Program to teach others how to
work with PMC (classes)
and I continue to learn about and experiment with it's
almost magical qualities. In
addition, I have broadened my skills with many hours
of training in traditional metal smith techniques. My
work is for sale from my studio in Castle Rock,
Colorado, at occasional shows, and at shops
and galleries. I feel very rewarded by the positive
feedback I receive from my customers and colleagues
and I am working hard to expand my custom
design business. |
